Serving the Police family at every level
We believe it’s good business to give something back. That’s why we always do our best to help good causes. Last year, we provided £50,000 to help support 234 Force for Good community wellbeing projects through our Force for Good initiative.
For ten consecutive years, we’ve been proud to sponsor the Police Federation of England and Wales Bravery Awards. We’ve also supported the Police Scotland Bravery Awards and Police Scotland Excellence Awards.
We’ve lent our support to a wide range of initiatives including The UK Police Memorial, the Care of Police Survivors (COPS) charity and the UK Police Unity Tour. We also help colleagues to volunteer with our retired heroes with paws, specifically the Staffordshire Retired Police Dog Fund.
Honouring our outstanding Officers
We’re proud to support the Police Federation of England and Wales Bravery Awards and continue our sponsorship of the Police Scotland and Scottish Police Federation Bravery Awards.
Acting with incredible bravery in extremely difficult and dangerous situations is seen by many Officers as part of the job. That’s why we think it’s part of our job to honour them and recognise those who have performed outstanding acts of bravery, while on or off duty, throughout the UK.
National Police Wellbeing Programme
Improving the lives of the Police family is what we’re all about. That’s why we provide a wide range of initiatives, services and one-to-one support to make a positive difference to the lives of serving and retired Officers. We focus on four aspects of wellbeing which we believe make happier, healthier people.
Four ways we’re helping you feel good
Financial
How financially secure you feel makes a big difference. It’s not just about saving money and spending less but about staying in control. We can give you all the tools you need to do just that with financial education courses.
Physical
Keeping healthy should be a priority for Police employees of all ages. But busy lifestyles often make it tricky to access advice. We’re here to help, with a discretionary Healthcare scheme that gets over 12,500 of our scheme members faster access to diagnosis and treatment. Plus, we provide regular free mobile health screenings across the UK and provide useful online advice via our Wellbeing Toolkit.
Mental
With around one in six UK workers reported as experiencing common mental health problems, we need to treat mental health with just as much importance as the physical kind. Whether it’s a listening ear on our Care Line or a respite break if you’re ill or caring for someone who is, nobody needs to face mental illness alone.
Community
We’ve always played a key role in the wellbeing of the community and wider Police-related causes such as charities and awards. In addition, we run our own BeFit4Life initiative, visiting Police stations across the UK to provide hard-working Police employees with hot drinks and snacks, and a chance to talk to our Financial Wellbeing Consultants about money matters.
